Osio Sotto. Pope John XXIII Square
We are in a suburb of Bergamo. The camera is installed in Pope John XXIII Square, in the center of the small town of Osio Sotto with a population of about 10,000 people.
Like in many neighboring towns, the history of Osio Sotto began as early as the Roman Empire. After the Romans, this territory had been vacant for a long time because of barbarian raids. First documentary references to Osio Sotto appeared only in the 10th century.
Tourists might be interested in the town hall (this web camera is installed on it), medieval villas, as well as churches. One of them is not far from our camera, the parish church of San Zenone. The building appeared here in the 12th century, but now in its place stands the reconstructed church of the 18th century. The high bell tower, which has become a real symbol of the town, also appeared in the 18th century, in 1765.
