Soverato. Ippocampo Bay

Ippocampo is a bay in the Gulf of Squillace and the resort of Soverato is located on the shores of the Gulf of Squillace. The Gulf of Squillace is bordered in the north by the town of Isola di Capo Rizzuto and the Punta Stilo Lighthouse in the south. For many centuries, this eastern bay of Italy was considered dangerous because of frequent shipwrecks; sailors still say that Squillace is a gulf where the wind never ceases.

But let’s go back to a smaller bay, on the shores of which tourists relax. Along Ippocampo extends the wide beach of Soverato, where thousands of holidaymakers can comfortably accommodate. Do not be afraid of strong winds because, in the summer months, Soverato has very comfortable conditions for recreation. In 2015, Soverato was awarded the European Blue Flag award, given to the best beaches in this part of the world.

Guests of the resort can count not only on the magnificent sandy beaches, but also on a cultural and entertainment program. In Soverato, there is a modern theater, a Mediterranean aquarium, and a botanical garden.
