Mērsrags. Liela Highway

This webcam is located in Mērsrags, a small harbor town on the picturesque coast of the Gulf of Riga, some 95 kilometres away from the capital city of Riga. Mērsrags is surrounded by extensive woodlands and has become an important port for logging and woodworking industry of the country.

Despite this obvious industrial incline in the local economy, this seaside town is an attractive destination for many tourists. Vicinity of the Lake Engure, which is an important stopping place for migratory birds, has made Mērsrags very popular among birdwatchers. The beautiful Mērsrags canal and green woods in the surroundings each summer attract many tourists and enthusiasts of nature.
