Mērsrags. The Port and the Yacht Club

This webcam is located in Mērsrags, a small harbor town on the west coast of the Gulf of Riga. It lies near the beautiful Lake Engure and is surrounded by green forests. The port of Mērsrags is mostly visited by cargo ships and serves as mooring place for yachts belonging to the local yacht club.

Of course, this small seaside town is not that popular among tourists. Still, it has some very special attractions to offer its visitors. For example, Mērsrags is a famous destination for anglers and birdwatchers. In addition, guests of the town can also visit the Mērsrags lighthouse (built in the end of the 19th century), the Mērsrags Lutheran Church (built in the beginning of the 19-th century, it is one of the oldest wooden churches in Latvia) and the town museum.
