Swakopmund. The Beach

The beach resort of Namibia, Swakopmund, is located in the central part of the country, on the Atlantic coast. We are in the bar of Tiger Reef Beach Bar & Grill. In the background, we can see the famous pier, the first version of which was built here at the turn of the 19th˗20th centuries.

Near the beach, which you see on the screen, there are several popular resort hotels, as well as camping. AHA Beach Hotel Swakopmund and Swakopmund Sands Hotel offer rooms for $110˗120.

One of the main tourist attractions of the resort is the National Marine Aquarium, which is the building we can see on the right. The only aquarium in Namibia operates from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 ˗ 16:00. There you can see a huge variety of the ocean inhabitants that live in the natural environment; water is pumped into the aquarium from the ocean through several filters.
