Walvis Bay. The Port

The port of Walvis Bay is very important for Namibia. Located in the central part of Namibia, on the Atlantic coast, it is the main trade gate of the country. Naturally, this port is the largest in the country. About 3,000 ships come here annually, and the port handles about five million tons of cargo.

The infrastructure of Walvis Bay is constantly improving because the load on the port is seriously increasing. In 2017, the container terminal of the port accommodated almost 4,000 containers, the port receives about 250,000 containers annually.

The port of Walvis Bay plays an important role in the country’s economy. It is the base for a huge fishing fleet, supplying fish industry enterprises.

The camera is installed in the busy part of the port, where bars, restaurants, and nightclubs operate. On the territory of the port is a Mariott Hotel.
