Königsleiten, like other artificial lakes at ski resorts, simultaneously performs two functions; it attracts tourists to the resort in the summer months, and in the winter it helps to keep the trails in good condition, giving up water reserves to snow guns.

The pond is located at an altitude of 2,193 meters above sea level. For comparison, the neighboring peak, Königsleitenspitze, has a height of 2,315 meters. We are looking at Königsleiten from a station of the Dorfbahn cableway. It is a lift with comfortable eight-seat cabins, built in 2010. The lower station of this funicular is in the Königsleiten area, so tourists can get to the top of the mountain very fast, if they choose a hotel in Königsleiten.

Recently, a new summer entertainment, ziplining, has appeared over the artificial lake. You can fly over Königsleiten for only 10 euros. The attraction runs from July to September every day, from 9:00 to 15:30. There are some requirements for visitors, such as one should be at least 140 centimeters tall and weigh at least 50 kilograms. You will fly at great speed, on a 430-meter steel rope, over a mountain pond for a few seconds.
