Sölden. Mount Gaislachkogel

At 3 kilometers, Mount Gaislachkogel towers above the Austrian resort of Sölden and invites everyone to its top. In 2010, a new ropeway, with a capacity of 1,700 passengers per hour, appeared here. The cabin lifts, in different parts of the Gaislachkoglbahn, generally go to a height of more than 1.5 kilometers, while traveling a 4-kilometer distance.

The rotary camera at the top of Gaislachkogel shows its modern station, as well as other Alpine peaks. Next to the station is a futuristic structure with panoramic glazing, this is the restaurant, Ice Q. If you think you have seen a similar building somewhere else, you are not mistaken, as Ice Q can be seen in the James Bond movie, Spectre.

The cableway, Gaislachkoglbahn, as well as the restaurant on the mountain, is open all year round. After all, not only skiers come to Gaislachkogel, fans of mountain walks can also come here, for 37 euros, in the summer months.

Gaislachkogel‘s peak has a height of 3,056 meters above sea level. From it, you can see even more majestic alpine peaks, for example, neighboring mountain, Äußere Schwarze Schneid (3,257 meters), the height of which was conquered, for the first time, by a team of travelers led by F. Platter in 1870. Now, the mountain can be reached from Sölden in 12 minutes.
