Galtür. Ballunspitzbahn Station
The ski resort on the border of Vorarlberg and Tyrol is built on the slopes of Ballunspitze. The height of this mountain peak is 2,671 meters above sea level. The camera is installed on the upper station of the Birkhahnbahn cableway, opened in 1988. On the screen, we can see another ski lift, Ballunspitzbahn. As it is easy to guess, it brings tourists to the top of Ballunspitze.
Ballunspitzbahn was built in 1997. On the six-seat lift chairs, you can go straight to the border of two federal states of Austria, where several difficult trails start.
The camera periodically turns to the east and shows the district of Wirl, where several hotels and restaurants are built. The village of Galtür, to which the ski resort Paznaun-Ischgl belongs, is located past the district of Wirl, but there are many accommodation options much cheaper than those situated near the ropeways.
