Sokółka. Church of St. Anthony of Padua
Let’s get acquainted with the beautiful landmarks of the Polish town of Sokółka. On your screen is an ancient Roman Catholic church built in the middle of the 19th century, in the classicism style. Two of its facade towers attract attention, and the entrance group, with icons and sculptures, perfectly complements the architectural value of this church.
The temple became famous throughout the country after the Eucharistic miracle happened here. The transformation of wine and bread into human flesh and blood took place in 2008. It is interesting that the church did not officially recognize the Eucharist, but the parishioners do not doubt the miracle that occurred. Professor Karol Sliuk, head of forensic medical examination in Bydgoszcz, said he was ready to conduct detailed studies but was refused.
In the foreground of the image, we can see the intersection of Grodzieńska, Adama Mickiewicza and Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego streets. We are looking at the intersection from the Unikat Supermarket, one of the largest stores in Sokółka.
In the left part of the picture, you can see a hotel, Zajazd Bakunówka, and the territory of school number 1.
