Sokółka. Józef Piłsudski Square
In front of us is a small square in the town of Sokółka, located on the street of the same name of the Marshal of Poland, Józef Piłsudski. We are in the Osiedle Centrum, near the central square of Tadeusz Kosciuszko. You can get to it along Pilsudski Street, if you move in a southerly direction.
On the screen, we can see a paved square with a fountain and a landscaped area with lawns and modern playgrounds. At the end of the square is a bust of Józef Piłsudski, the Polish military, state and political figure, the first head of the revived Polish state, and the founder of the Polish army.
If you travel to the cities of Poland, you will surely meet more than a dozen objects named after Józef Piłsudski. Around the square are several municipal institutions of the town, such as a court or a social service center. The courthouse is just behind the camera.
