Metajna. Embankment
We are heading to the Croatian island of Pag to see the embankment of the Metajna Resort. It is believed that Metajna was founded in the 17th century, although archaeological research proves that the island was inhabited before the arrival of Croats.
The camera is installed next to the pier which, in the summer months, is filled with pleasure boats and private boats. We are looking at the waterfront of Metajna, from Riva Cafe. Just behind the cafe is a chain of hotels and hostels. For example, the closest apartments to the Puntica Cafe offer four-bed apartments from 400 euros.
The village is famous for its large beach, Ručica. Another favorite tourist place near the sea is Beriknica Beach. The climate in Metajna is mild — Mediterranean. In the summer, it is very hot here, and in the winter, it’s rainy, except for a cold north wind, bora, in the off-season.
In addition to tourism, Metajna’s economy relies on fishing, sheep breeding, and viticulture.
