Playa de Santiago. Coast of the Resort

Until recently, Playa de Santiago was the most non-tourist locality of the Spanish island of Gomera. Fisheries and shipbuilding were developed here. Now, we can see well-equipped beaches, the embankment, and many hotels and cafes, so the village can be called a resort.

The camera is located in the eastern part of Playa de Santiago, next to the large four-star Hotel Jardín Tecina. In addition to a large building with a number of rooms, Hotel Jardín Tecina has many small villas. Guests of the resort choose this option of accommodation for the opportunity to play golf in the hotel’s Tecina Golf.

In the panorama in front of us, we can clearly see a large pebble beach, as well as the piers of Playa de Santiago. Previously, ferries linking the islands of Gomera with the neighboring island of Tenerife plied here. Today, small boats and yachts of wealthy tourists are moored at old berths. The local population (about 1,000 people) is mostly engaged in tourism.
