In the older literature Spindleruv Mlyn was many times called “Pearl of Giant Mountains” because it is located in a very beautiful and picturesque area, in the very middle of the highest Czech mountains.

In the summer time you can take a walk through the beautiful green valleys, mountains and woods. Spindleruv Mlyn is an ideal place for tourists loving active vacation in nature because they can use plenty of local pedestrian and cyclic routes.

When it comes to the winter season, the first snow shows at the end of October but the real winter starts in December and lasts until April. The most popular skiing centers are Svaty Petr and Medvedin. Both of them have snowboard parks and slopes suitable both for professional skiers and for beginners. The town’s surroundings are perfect for those, who prefers cross-country ski.
