Piran. Tartini Square
Charming narrow streets and small seaside houses with red roofs are what you are going to see when you visit Piran, beautiful town in southwestern Slovenia on the Gulf of Piran on the Adriatic Sea. Main town square is located not far from the harbor and bears name of Giuseppe Tartini, famous composer and violinist born in Piran. In the middle of the square, we can see his beautiful bronze statue erected to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his birth.
Above the town square dominates the biggest and most important church, the Church of Saint George, located on the neighboring hill. A charming Franciscan monastery is situated nearby. During summer season tourists can visit the bell tower of the church and enjoy the beautiful view over the Bay of Trieste.
