Costa da Caparica. Beaches
A rotary webcam has an overview of the shoreline of Costa da Caparica, which is just a stone’s throw from Lisbon. Every weekend throughout the summer season, you can watch cars going from Lisbon in the direction of Costa da Caparica, famous throughout the country for its great sandy beaches.
The total length of the local beaches is about 20 kilometers. All of them are very clean and well equipped. Along them lies a special path for walking and jogging and of course, opposite each beach, there are restaurants and cafes.
In the season, on weekends, there are traffic jams in the direction of the beaches, so tourists are encouraged to use public transport. This is much better than spending hours in a traffic jam, and it’s quite comfortable.
Of course, you can rent a room or a flat in front of the beach, which would be an ideal option. By the way, nudists will also find a suitable beach for themselves in Costa da Caparica!
What is the best time to come here? It depends on what exactly you want to do. Fans of water sports, surfing, windsurfing, and bodyboarding come here any time of the year, as the waves off the coast of Costa da Caparica are always good. But, if you just want to swim, then it’s better to come in September˗October because the temperature is optimal then.
