Saint-Petersburg. View from Lakhta Center

Panoramic view of St. Petersburg from a height of 360 meters. Here will be located the observation deck, the highest in Russia and Europe.

The construction of the Lakhta Center, in St. Petersburg, began in February 2013. At that time, a lot of controversy was surrounding the future headquarters of Gazprom Neft. Many cultural figures signed various appeals about the inadmissibility of building a new dominant in the northern capital of Russia. But, in the end, the decision was made to build the first skyscraper in St. Petersburg.

The new building, by the time of commissioning, should reach a height of 462 meters and have 87 floors. Such a height will allow Lakhta Center to become the tallest building in Russia and throughout Europe.

The complex, which is to have been built by 2018 (by the time of the World Cup in the country), will include offices, a medical center, a sports complex, a children’s scientific and educational center, a planetarium, a panoramic restaurant, a viewing platform and an open waterfront.
