Corralejo. El Charco de Bristol

Let’s go to the Canary Islands and look at the extreme northern point of Fuerteventura. The camera is installed in the resort of Corralejo, at the bay of El Charco de Bristol and wind stations.

On the shore, as in many other parts of the resort, there is a spacious sandy beach. It is distinguished by calm water and a great view of the neighboring island of Lanzarote. The length of the beach is about 100 meters. Big families relax on the beach, and surfers who have just started to practice this extreme sport take their first steps there. In addition, the calm ocean contributes to good fishing.

Throughout its long history, Corralejo has always remained a modest fishing town with a poor population. The first steps in the development of tourism were taken only in the 1970s. It was only at the beginning of the 2000s that Corralejo achieved significant success and became a major tourist destination among the many resorts of the Canary Islands.

The number of local residents has increased with the development of the town.
If in the middle of the 20th century there were just over 2,500 people living here, today, this number has increased 10 times!
