Zermatt. The Summit of the Matterhorn

The beautiful and severe Matterhorn is one of the highest summits in the Alps (and Europe).

This mountain serves as a natural border between Switzerland and Italy, and its ascent is possible from both sides. Actually, the first one was made from Zermatt (and some of these brave people died on the descent).

Though bearing the name of one of the deadliest peaks of the world, Matterhorn attracts many mountaineers each year.
