Mae Khari. Bridge over the Tamot Canal

In addition to the many rivers that flow throughout the country, Thailand has a huge number of artificially created canals, which help the local population farm. The bridge you see on the screen is built across one of these small channels. It is in the west of the southern province of Phutthalung.

The Tamot Canal is named after the area in which it flows. The district was established in 1977, by separation from the larger area of Khao Chaison. In Tamot, there are about 30 small settlements, the population of many of which is engaged in agriculture and, in this way, works close to canals and rivers.

Domestic tourism in the province of Phutthalung is developed, due to Buddhist temples and antiquities, as well as beautiful mountains and rocks.
