Sam Chuk. Bridge over the Tha Chin River
We are in the Sam Chuk district, located in the north of the Thai province of Suphan Buri. The district received its modern name in 1939. Before that, it was called Nang Buat.
The most interesting and famous place in the district is the 100-year-old market which received the 2009 UNESCO Prize for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage. This market has always been the largest trading center on the banks of Tha Chin. On the territory of the market is one of the oldest city hotels, Udomchok Hotel.
Highway 3365, leading to the west of the country, goes along the bridge. It leads to Phu Toei Forest Park, the famous national park of the province of Suphan Buri.
The Rahan River flows parallel to the Tha Chin. The main administrative buildings, such as the local post office, Sam Chuk municipality and Sam Chuk Clinic, are located in this district.
