Suphan Buri. Statue Bridge across the Tha Chin River
We can see a bridge in one of the northern districts of the Thai town of Suphan Buri. It connects the community center of Wat Phrarup with Chalerm Patthara Rachini Park. The park and its surroundings are always crowded, because the popular city’s shops are situated on the eastern bank of the Tha Chin River.
Since Suphan Buri is the center of the province of the same name, many bridges across the river Tha Chin, including pedestrian ones, have been built in the city. The Statue Bridge has one traffic lane in each direction, as well as pedestrian sidewalks.
The name of the city and province literally translates as “City of Gold”. The province is the major producer of rice.
