Dubai. Palm Jumeirah

Hotel Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi is built on the shore of the Persian Gulf and has great views from its rooms.

On the screen, we can see one of several artificial islands of Dubai, made in the form of a palm tree. The name corresponds to the content, the island was named Palma Jumeirah. From the ground, interesting and unusual contours of the island can hardly be put into a drawing, but a giant palm tree can be seen from almost any skyscraper in Dubai.

Beginning in 2001, the island of Palm Jumeirah took 5 years to build. It is part of the group of Palm Islands, which have artificially increased the city by more than 500 square kilometers.

On the screen, we can see a part of the ‘trunk’ of a palm tree (on the left side of the picture), as well as a couple of leaves; there are 16 of them. Another artificial land is the crescent around the island. It serves as an 11-kilometer breakwater. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge, and the crescent is connected by underwater tunnel with the top of the palm.
