St Ives. The Beach of St Ives Harbour

The camera at Sloop Inn in St Ives, England helps to make the first impression of this resort town. On your screen is St Ives Harbour Beach, which gives way to views of the harbor and Smeaton’s Pier.

As you can see, many people have their own boats, so there are many convenient ways leading to the water. In the old days, the economy of St. Ives was based mainly on fishing. But now, tourism is in first place.

Sloop Inn has a very interesting story. The modern building was built at the turn of the seventeenth to eighteenth centuries. But the original hotel was built in 1322!

Because of the similarity of the names, St Ives is often confused with another town in Cornwall, St Ive.
