Auburn. Auburn University. Toomer's Drugs

At the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and College Street is one of the most popular restaurants in Auburn University, Toomer’s Drugs. This corner in the territory of the educational institution is better known as Toomer’s Corner.

This crossing has become the site of a variety of student activities and events. Students hang toilet paper on the trees next to the restaurant, according to the more than 70 year old tradition. Just out of the gates, on the opposite side of the street, you can see the most famous oak, which has to endure the traditional rituals of students.

Unfortunately, several oaks were cut down after one of the students poisoned the soil beneath these trees in 2011. The student confessed that it had been done because of the defeat of his favorite team in a football match.

On the days of the games of the local football team, the intersection becomes a place of celebration of the won matches; students draw the team’s emblem on the pavement and have fun until morning. In the background, you can see the towers of the University buildings: Graduate School Administration and Staff and Board of Trustees.
