Newport News. William Styron Square

We are observing William Styron Square, located in the very center of Port Warwick. This square is called after William Clark Styron Jr., who was born in Newport News and became a famous American novelist. Styron Square looks very much alike squares of London.

Numerous buildings of commercial and residential purposes surround the square. In the center stands a beautiful pavilion, used mostly for national and community events, as well as for recreation during weekends.

The city of Newport News has become worldwide famous thanks to its shipbuilding industry and shipyards, where the most part of the U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines today is designed, built and serviced.
