South Padre Island. The Beach

The resort town of South Padre Island, its gorgeous beach we see on the screen, is located on the longest bay-bar in the world, Padre Island.

The length of the island is more than 200 kilometers, so it is not surprising that its resorts can take a huge number of tourists. Including surfers who come here hoping to catch high waves. Fishermen can be met there, for whom tournaments are arranged. And, of course, the resort is famous as the center of beach holidays, which attracts families from all over the state.

Another popular pastime at the resort is dolphin watching. Tour groups go into the open ocean on boats and watch the animals in their natural habitat.

The resort is also connected with the world’s largest urban planning mistake. The famous condominium, Ocean Tower, the construction of which began in 2006, was demolished three years later. The 31-story building was considered unsafe, so they decided to blow up the tower.
