Windham. Windham Mountain Resort
Windham Mountain Resort is located within 3 hour’s drive north of New York. This rotary camera shows us the territory of the ski resort, as well as its cable cars and trails. The resort was opened in 1960 and was originally called Ski Area Cave Mountain. In the 90s, high-speed lifts were built here, which significantly increased the number of vacationers.
In total, Windham Mountain has 54 trails of varying complexity (13 light, 24 medium and 17 difficult ones), which are serviced by 12 lifts. Most of the slopes (98%) have artificial snow-making systems. The last overhaul of the resort was undertaken before the winter season of 2013-2014. At that time, some routes were enlarged by transferring the parking lot to the lower station of the lift.
On this web page, you can see another ski resort also built on the Catskill ridge. There are some disagreements between the two resorts, as Belleayre, unlike Windham Mountain, has state funding and cheaper tickets.
On a day off, the cost of the Windham Mountain ski lift is $85, while in Belleayre you can ski for $60.
