Kanchanaburi. Second World War Memorial

Kanchanaburi is a small town in the west part of the country. It is well-known for its bridge on the Burma Railway, the infamous Second World War Memorial. It is believed that half of the prisoners, that took part in the construction, died.

The Burma Railway has been often called the Death Railway since that time.
