Bad Hofgastein. Community Panorama
This is an Austrian market community, Bad Hofgastein. As in many neighboring villages, there is a ski resort of its own, so in the winter the community is always full of tourists. The panoramic camera shows us the high mountain peaks around Bad Hofgastein, as well as the homes of locals and hotels for the guests of the village.
One of these hotels has a camera. AKZENT Hotel Germania Gastein offers excellent rooms with approximately the same view from the window as on this picture. Periodically, there are big discounts for accommodation in this hotel. On such days, the double room is available for only 100 euros.
The history of the community dates back to the Ancient Roman civilization. In those days, gold and silver were mined there. The village is at the widest point of the Hofgastein Valley, so the houses are not built along the valley, as in the neighboring villages, but across it.
The main attractions of the resort are the medieval castle of Weitmoserschlössl and the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption of the 15th century. These two important architectural monuments of the community are two kilometers apart. The castle can be seen in the south, and the church is to the northwest.
