A webcam is near the alpine town of Lienz, famous not only for its surrounding ski slopes. Skiing is, of course, very important and healthy, but there is nothing unique about it.

You can find dozens of other ski resorts on other cameras. But Lienz is not just one of these places.

First, there is a brewing company, widely known thanks to Gösser. And secondly, in the history of Lienz there is one sad moment, called “extradition of the Cossacks”. If you have not heard of it, read about it. After that, you will know why Lienz is still visited by the Cossacks and descendants of the Russian emigrants of the first wave.
