Winklern. View of the Village from Mount Pentzelberg

We are at Lerchmarhofs Farm, situated on a mountainside of Pentzelberg. It offers excellent views of Winklern community. Among the standard rural development at the foot of the mountain, you can see the dominant feature of Winklern, the parish church of the nineteenth century. It was built on the site of the medieval church in 1800 and about 100 years later it got a new interior, designed in the Gothic Revival style. The high clock tower is visible from almost every corner of the village.

The village has a lot of interesting buildings, such as Mautturm Tower. According to historical documents, it was built in the fourteenth century and was used as a household and even as a granary.

Pentzelberg can be reached not only on foot, but also by car. That is why the mountain is considered one of the most popular holiday destinations at Winklern. On the opposite side is the federal state of Tyrol, in Austria, you can continue the fascinating journey through the alpine mountains and visit the ski resort of Zettersfeld.
