The municipality of Mallnitz is located in the Austrian Ankogel Mountains. It is famous for its Tauern railway and Adolf Hitler’s train ‘America’. The railway runs through the long tunnels of over eight kilometers, so that even an ordinary train ride can be a fascinating journey for the tourists.

The population of this village is about 1,000 people, but it is always crowded in Mallnitz. It’s not surprising, because Ankogelbahn cable way works here. In summer, mountain walkers use it, and skiers and snowboarders in winter.

Mallnitz is known as a medical health resort, because it is considered one of the few places in Austria where the climate helps cure many respiratory diseases. That is why there are not only hotels, but also sanatoriums.
