Mayrhofen. Penkenbahn Lift

In the last few years, the ski infrastructure of Mayrhofen has been significantly renovated. On the site of the old ropeways, modern funiculars have been built, and on one of the slopes, there is a large snow park.

We are located at one of the intermediate stations of the resort, on the way to the highest routes. The panoramic camera shows us the Kombibahn Penken funicular, built in 2010. It is interesting because eight-seat and ten-seat booths are moving along it simultaneously. They cover the distance of 863 meters in three minutes.

Then, the camera turns to the east, and we can see the lower station of Kombibahn Penken and the main lift of the resort, Penkenbahn. It was opened in 2015 and can carry up to 30 people in each cabin. Almost 4,000 people go from Mayrhofen to the Penken ski area every hour.

In the background, we can see part of the famous Zillertal Valley, where besides Mayrhofen, there are more than ten popular Austrian resorts.
