Obertraun. Dachstein-Gletscher Ski Resort

The Austrian ski resort, Dachstein-Gletscher, is built on the eponymous glacier. At the top of the Dachstein Glacier, located at an altitude of 2,995 meters above sea level, is the border of the federal states of Styria and Upper Austria. We can see these peaks in the panoramic camera image.

Dachstein-Gletscher offers not only good tracks but also slopes for freeride and a Superpark, with trampolines and ramps built for extreme acrobats. A one-day ski pass for this ski resort costs 46.50 euros.

Tourists come to Dachstein not only to ski but to also enjoy amazing views of the Alpine mountains. There are viewing platforms, such as Skywalk or “Stairs to Nowhere,” which both offer amazing views. Another attraction of the mountain, which by the way leads to the Stairs to Nowhere, is a suspension bridge. At its construction, about 30,000 elements were used, and the total weight of steel structures was 63 tons. The 100-meter bridge also leads to the Ice Palace, with sculptures of non-melting ice.
