Schladming. Hunerkogel

To the north of Austrian Schladming, several glaciers are located at an altitude of more than 2.5 kilometers above sea level. Tourists can see snow here, in both the winter and summer. Vacationers can use convenient ski lifts to reach mountain peaks quickly.

We are looking at the panorama of Schladming Glacier from Hunerkogel (2,687 meters high). There are several cableways popular with skiers and snowboarders. The ski lifts that link Honerkogel with Schladming are built on the southern slope of the mountain.

An ambitious project was implemented in 1969. New at that time, the Dachstein Südwandbahn funicular could simultaneously bring up to 70 tourists to the glaciers. Today, this cableway uses modern cabins with panoramic glazing and has access to the roof.

In 2013, a unique 100-meter suspension bridge and an observation deck over a mountain cliff were built near Hunerkogel.
