Rauris. Rauriser Street
Rauris is the name of a valley and community in the Alpine mountains of Austria. A popular ski resort has been created there, thanks to the neighborhood of Schwarzwand (2,194 meters above sea level). The camera is installed on the lower station of the Hochalmbahn lift, built in 1993. At the time of opening, this cable car with six-seat cabins was one of the most modern in Zell am See.
It is noteworthy that the northern part of Rauris has another ski area with cable cars. Previously, Waldalmlift, built in 1982, operated there, but this obsolete lift needed replacement and was dismantled. The modern cable car, Waldalm 2016, replaced it.
Part of the road in the Rauris Valley, located in the homonymous community, is called Rauriser. We can see it in the frame of the rotary camera. This dead-end road connects the community of Bucheben with the valley of the Salzach River.
On the opposite side of the street, we can see local houses, as well as popular hotels, such as Schonblick Mountain Resort & Spa, or more affordable, Landhaus Schwaiger.
