Schönberg-Lachtal. Mount Schönberg
The ski resort of Lachtal is situated on a ridge, to the north of the village of Schönberg-Lachtal. A panoramic camera is installed on one of the mountain peaks. It is interesting that on the slopes of Schönberg, we can see not only ski tracks and cable cars but also a series of wind turbines and a small field of solar panels. Together, they form an environmentally friendly power plant that uses wind and solar energy.
The camera is installed at the Schönberg 6er-Schaukel ski lift station. This six-seater covers 1 kilometer and a height of 286 meters in just 3.5 minutes. At first, we can see the cableway itself, then the camera turns to the northwest and displays other funiculars of the resort and its main roads.
The landscape is very different from what we see at the most popular Austrian ski resorts, built on mountains about 3 kilometers above sea level. Therefore, Lachtal is an ideal place for a family holiday or mastering the basics of skiing or snowboarding.
