Spittal an der Drau District. Peak Hocharn
This is another high-altitude camera on the border of the federal states of Salzburg and Carinthia. We are at an altitude of 2970 meters and are looking in the direction of several mountain peaks: Arlthöhe (3084 meters), Hocharn (3254 meters), Goldzechkopf (3042 meters), Sonnblick (3106 meters), Hochkönig (2941 meters) and Goldbergspitze (3073 meters).
The highest mountain is Hocharn, located to the left. In the beginning of the eighteenth century, the first attempts to climb this mountain were made, hoping to find gold here. Now, it is climbed in order to get the best panorama of the Austrian Alps from a great height.
You can see Sonnblick Observatory, where important meteorological research is conducted. There is a huge snow blade in the center is Kleinfleißkees, which descends to the level of 1800 meters above sea level. The camera is set on the ridge between the peaks of Goldberg and Rothen Mann.
