Walchsee. The Lake

This panoramic camera, on the shore of Walchsee, is set in the Seespitz camping area. On the screen, we can see the lake, hotels around it, and the mountain peaks in the background of the image.Walchsee has an area of only one square kilometer, but it is the fourth largest lake in all of Tyrol.

During the summer months, you can take a boat trip or a catamaran ride on the lake, or take a swim from one of the beaches. One of the most popular types of tourism on the lake is fishing. You can catch pike, perch, whitefish, carp, trout and tench. In addition, tourists can try their hand at surfing, sailing, and water skiing.

Every year, the Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl Triathlon competition is held at the lake. Athletes swim across the lake and then cycle between the communities of Walchsee and Kössen.

On the left bank of the river, you can see the quay of Strandcafe Apartments. One week of accommodation, in wooden houses near the water, costs € 648 for two. Guests can use the beach for free, as well as visit the restaurant of the same name.
