Kralendijk. View of the Bay
Bonaire is an island in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Venezuela. In front of us is the coast of Kralendijk, the administrative center of this island. The main port of Bonaire and the offices of many big companies are here. For example, the Breathe-IT company office is located in the building where this camera is installed.
Kralendijk occupies more than half of the island, therefore it is not only a port but a resort town as well, with many beaches and large coastal hotels. There are also other attractions, like a stone lighthouse, the Bonaire Museum, and the Fort of Oranje in which there are four ancient cannons.
Tourists can get acquainted with the large coral reef that surrounds the whole island. Since 1979, this reef has had the status of a National Marine Park. It is interesting that under this protection is not only the reef itself but the entire underwater world.
In addition, the largest flamingo nesting in the western hemisphere can be found in the Pekelmeer Flamingo Sanctuary.
