St. Hostyn. Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady

There are many sacred places in the Czech Republic (even though some modern Czechs sometimes might seem to be atheists). One of the sacred places is the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady located in Saint Hostyn, which itself is the most significant and most visited place of pilgrimage in Moravia.

The Basilica was built in 1721 – 1748 in the Baroque style. It is the part of the bigger Pilgrimage Complex of the Saint Hostyn with a chapel, refectory and hotel for pilgrims.
