Химмельшрофен
If you get a few meters above the streets of Oberstdorf, you will discover incredible views of the Bavarian Alps. This camera is installed at the Guesthouse Sinz, in the heart of the German resort. From the roof of the hotel, we are looking to the south, toward the German-Austrian border.

On the left, Himmelschrofen rises above Mount Oberstdorf, and on the right is Alpgundkopf. Together, they form the Birgsautal Valley. In clear weather, you can see a huge number of peaks behind this valley. The border of neighboring states passes along most of them. One of the highest peaks in the picture is Hohes Licht. Its maximum height is 2,651 meters above sea level. For comparison, the height of Alpgundkopf is 474 meters less. Hohes Licht is located in Austria.

Not all the mountains of Oberallgäu have access to the peaks. For example, Himmelschrofen is suitable only for experienced climbers and hikers, and the slopes of Alpgundkopf do not have convenient hiking trails.

The four-star Guesthouse Sinz, from which we are looking at the mountains, has 12 apartments and four rooms. The cost of accommodation for one guest is about 60 euros per night.

Sinz was opened in 1911 and represents a traditional family business. The first owner was the great-grandmother of the current owner, Louis Sinz. Her house was one of the first in Oberstdorf with central heating.
