Oberwiesenthal. Lower Lift Station
Oberwiesenthal is not the most extreme ski resort in Germany, but definitely worth a visit if you like history and beautiful natural landscapes. The town is located right on the border with the Czech Republic, among the mountain slopes and large meadows. In addition to the ski slopes in Oberwiesenthal, tourists are interested in old buildings, a modern aquarium, and interesting hiking trails along the mountain slopes.
The camera is installed on the lower station of the old cableway of 1924. Fichtelberg Schwebebahn is equipped with 45-person cabins, which are used by holidaymakers without skis and snowboards, because parallel to this lift, a chairlift goes to Fichtelberg.
The cabins of Fichtelberg Schwebebahn pass 1,175 meters before they reach an altitude of 1,208 meters above sea level (which is 303 meters higher than the lower station of the cableway). The journey takes no more than four minutes, but due to the peculiarities of the historical design, the capacity of the funicular is only 640 people per hour.
The camera is directed toward the roll-out of one of the ski runs of the resort. It should be said that most routes here have easy or medium difficulty, so Oberwiesenthal is ideal for families with children.
