Webcam with a panoramic view over the little northern Icelandic town called Akureyri. This town is, by the matter of fact, the forth largest in the country and serves today as important port and fishing center. Maybe that is why it is often being called “the capital of Northern Iceland”.
Tourists that are rather interested in cultural and historical sights will find plenty of them in Akureyri. The town has got many museums and two beautiful churches, The Glerárkirkja Church and The Church of Akureyri.
Enthusiasts of nature will probably fall in love with Akureyri’s Botanical Gardens and the magnificent Goðafoss, one of the most famous and spectacular waterfalls in Iceland which is located not far from the town.
