Ahrntal. Klaussee
The survey camera is on the slopes of Durrak Mountain (3,135 meters above sea level), which is the highest among all the mountains of the eponymous ridge. It shows us Lake Klaussee (Italians call it Chiusetta), a ski slope named after this small pond, and mountains on the opposite side of Valle Aurina.
The lake is located at an altitude of 2,162 meters above sea level. Walking to it is a real feat. Fortunately, it is located in a ski resort, so tourists can use the cable cars running on the slope. In 2016, there was a new cabin cable car, K-Express, built; it markedly shortens the way to the lake. Other ropeways are operating on the slope all year round as well.
The nearest ski lift to the lake is behind us, this is Klaussee 2, built in 2006. It sends tourists to the highest starting point of the ski slopes. Having risen in the booth of Klaussee 2 to the upper station, built at an altitude of 2,510 meters, you can go down the mountain path directly to the lake.
