This camera, on the border of Italy and France, is installed for scientific and technical research of Bessanese Glacier. The climate change is well seen at such altitudes, where the rate of the melting of glaciers and other important things are visible for scientists.

The open-air laboratory was named RiST project. The information obtained during the observations contributes to the study of the interconnection of climate change and the natural instability of processes in the high-altitude Alpine environment. This panoramic webcam is an important part of research processes because, with its help, you can get visual information about external changes on the glacier.

From the altitude of 2,775 meters above sea level, we are looking at the mountain peaks of Bessanese. The highest point of this mountain is almost a kilometer higher.

As you can see, the electric energy for the laboratory is produced by solar panels.
