Macugnaga. Lago delle Fate
Popular ski resorts on the slopes of Monte Moro attract tourists in the summer months as well. On the border of Italy and Switzerland, in the area of Macugnaga, there are picturesque valleys with rivers and lakes, in addition to interesting hiking trails on the peaks and slopes of the mountains. This camera, in Ristoro Alpino Lago delle Fate, shows us a small, but very beautiful, pond.
Lago delle Fate was formed during the construction of the power plant, when the river flow in the Quarazza Valley was partly blocked. On sunny days, the clear mountain lake shimmers with green, blue, and turquoise flowers. Tourists, who have to walk on foot 400 meters to get to the shore of the lake, admire the nature of Italy at the restaurant tables, set along the shore of Lago delle Fate.
Such small tourist areas as Lago delle Fate are very popular with Italian travelers; not many foreigners come here. Residents from all over the country come here to have a picnic on the shore of a transparent lake.
A further journey through the Quarazza Valley will take you to the waterfalls, green Alpine meadows, and other attractions of Piedmont.
