Turin. Palazzo Madama
Madama Palace is part of the palace complex of Palazzo Madama in Turin. Besides the main building, which you see on the screen, the medieval palace, Castello degli Acaja, belongs to the complex too. Thus, the value of this architectural attraction is the combination of completely different architectural styles; the facade is designed in the style of North Italian Baroque and there is a gloomy medieval castle, with round towers of the fifteenth century.
For the last 100 year, there has been a museum of ancient art in the building of the palace. In the old days, Madama used to be a residence of the local rulers, a guest house, and, at one time, even the Parliament building and Supreme Court.
Around the palace complex, you can find other attractions of Turin, such as the Regio Theatre, Subalpina Gallery, Carignano Palace and other architectural symbols of the city.
