Turin. Via Roma Street
This view, from the Palazzo Madama, is of one of the main streets of Turin, Via Roma. Six hundred meter Via Roma connects the historic center with Porta Nuova railway station. Between the street and the palace is the central square of the city, Piazza Castello.
The main streets of the city can be found on the square. In addition to Via Roma, the streets Via Garibaldi, Via Po and Via Micca lead to Piazza Castello. In the first century, there was a fortification building of the Roman Empire on the site of the modern square and Palazzo Madama.
We can see examples of classical Italian architecture, which is perfectly preserved to this day. The city authorities are closely monitoring the condition of the buildings and, of course, prohibit the use of large advertisements on the facades. It’s hard to believe but, in both buildings, to the left and to the right, are the offices of well-known Turin companies, as well as shops and even a hotel. To the right is St. Lorenzo church (it can’t be seen in the picture), it has become one of the symbols of Turin.
